Vinous Neal Martin - 17 Jan 24
The 2022 Meursault Les Crîots is located just under Volnay Santenots on limestone-rich soil. It has a lively lemon rind and orange pith-scented bouquet, with a touch of popcorn in the background. The palate is well-balanced with a fresh lemon and lime-tinged bouquet and a bit of lemongrass on the finish. Fine.

Meursault Fine Wine

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
